Step into the enchanted world of Broadway's modern classic based on the Academy-Award winning animated feature! The stage version of Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST includes all of the wonderful songs written by Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman along with new songs by Mr. Menken and Tim Rice.
When Maurice becomes lost in the woods on the way to the fair, he seeks shelter in an old castle, but the master of the castle is a horrible beast that takes him captive. Maurice's daughter, Belle, must then give up her freedom to save his life. Belle's taming of the unfortunate Beast and his ultimate transformation back into a handsome prince enthralled Broadway audiences for over 13 years.
This "tale as old as time" is filled with spectacular costumes and sets as teapots, clocks, candlesticks, wardrobes, and just about everything else that you might find in an enchanted castle comes to life.
A three-act comedy by William VanZandt and Jane Milmore, LOVE, SEX, AND THE I.R.S. features two guy friends who share a New York City apartment. One friend has taken the responsibility of completing tax returns for the both of them, and for the past few years he has actually filed the two jointly as a married couple.
Of course, the "couple" gets audited, which leads to a hilarious case of gender concealment for the IRS against to crack. Mix in a nosy landlord, a fiancee, a jilted girlfriend, a pushy mother-in-law, and a weird guy from the subway, and the comedy just oozes out from the well-written lines.
A Friday night in the middle of winter in ALMOST, MAINE can get pretty cold and snowy. Happy and not-so-happy romances seem as abundant as the stars twinkling in the deep blue sky. As groups of stars form constellations, so the brief episodes and vignettes of this play are connected by time and place--each occurs on a Friday night in the middle of winter in and around Almost.
The wistful charm, quirky humor and bracing sense of hopefulness of those episodes and vignettes are what make this romantic comedy a must-see for audiences.
Playwright John Cariani's authentic dialogue requires a quartet of actors that will portray twenty characters; twenty wonderful people that audiences will connect with, laugh with, and give over a small piece of their heart.
